Rene Boivin 18k Gold Retro Double Clip Pin Brooch Vintage Jewelry

About the Item

Rene Boivin brooches were produced by the brand in a broad spectrum of shapes. There were plaques, rounded disks, arch and shield-shaped brooches. This Rene Boivin Retro dress double clip is made of 22 karat yellow gold and perfectly combine a beautifully made scrolling fluid shape with the strong Deco geometrical lines. Sapphires are precisely mounted and surrounded by the shiny polished gold frame. This 18 karat gold setting makes the stones pop. Graduated diamonds elevate the look of the piece to the highest level of luxury jewels. Given to the quality of Boivin workmanship, adding these gold dress clips to your attire is a sophisticated way to stand out in any refined and stylish crowd. This vintage brooch comes with the original Rene Boivin box. This vintage clip features approximately 5 carats of oval and round faceted sapphires and 8 carats of Old mine cut diamonds (G-I color, VS1 clarity). Each of these vintage double clip pins measures 1 ¼” x 1” x 3/8” (3.4 x 2.5 x 1 cm). These retro double clip weighs 31.0 grams. Each of these Rene Boivin is stamped with Rene Boivin maker's mark, French hallmark for 18 karat gold. About Rene Boivin Brand: The ability to keep its own style through the centuries is the staple of Rene Boivin jewelry. The company was founded in the late 19th century. Over time Rene Boivin pieces have been adapting to all the new trends and processed it via the original and special way of making jewelry. The most well-known Rene Boivin jewels were produced in 1930-1940, when the company was led by Jeane Boivin, Rene’s widow. Her partners at that time were two extraordinarily talented jewelry designers: Suzanne Belperron and Jeane’s daughter, Germain Boivin. That perfect team made Rene Boivin designs, which are still highly admired in the modern world. Being surrounded by Parisian artistic crowd, Jeane Boivin projected the influence of that circle to her jewelry. The exotic visuals of Picasso and Gauguin could be seen in her Torque, Barbare or Tranche collections. Instead of following a common geometrical trend of the Art Deco movement in the1930s, the House of Boivin created naturalistic themed pieces — such as orchids, umbel clusters and fox gloves. In the 1940s the designs offered more eloquent and larger size pieces featuring important colored stones or diamonds as a center stone. In the 1970s the brand was inherited by Jacques Bernard. Twenty years later it was bought by Asprey Co., and then later by a French jewelry firm. While the epochs and owners were passing, Boivin creativity and flawless craft remained the same until the house was closed at the end of 20th century.

  • Chaumet Retro Brooch 18k Gold Diamond Pin Estate Jewelry
    By Chaumet
    Located in Beverly Hills, CA
A French chic retro diamond brooch by Chaumet Paris made of 18 karat gold and platinum. During the Retro jewelry era, scrolls became one of the most popular design motifs. In this brooch Chaumet perfected the fluidity of the scroll shape. The designer created a great feeling of dynamic in a static jewelry piece. An abstract shape yellow gold part smoothly rolls into a platinum element set in the center. The latter is embellished with Old European and Old Mine cut diamonds. This high-polished gold brooch by Chaumet Paris has undeniable retro style. However, due to its minimalist contemporary look, this French diamond brooch can be considered a timeless classic. This Retro Chaumet brooch is made of 18 karat yellow gold and platinum, and accented with Old European cut and old mine cut diamonds (K-M color, VS clarity, total weight approximately 4.50 carats). The Retro pin measures 2 ½” x 1 ¼” (6 x 3 cm) and weighs 35.4 grams. The Retro gold brooch is stamped with Chaumet maker's and workshop marks, serial number, French hallmarks for 18 karat gold and platinum. About Chaumet Brand: Being the first jeweler to arrive on now famous Place Vendôme in 1812, Chaumet jewelry has been staying an expression of traditional Parisian style ever since. Chaumet pieces have long been a favorite with the French aristocrats. In 19th century, Joséphine Bonaparte, the Empress of the French and the first wife of Emperor Napoleon, was one of the brand’s famous clients and appreciators. Fast forward two centuries, Chaumet style is based on exploration of all things of nature. The brand itself calls it “naturalist jewelry”. The Maison’s designers use symbolism of plants, opulence of gardens and delicacy of grass to permeate Chaumet jewelry creations with the energy of the wild nature. In the modern world, the most popular Chaumet collections are the Liens, the Bee My Love and the Josephine. About Vintage...
