About the Item
These double sided beautifully colored pastel cufflinks reveal a tree backed landscape and a silhouette of an elk standing in the pasture at sunset. The cufflinks are made of guilloche enamel. The maker is Georg Johannes Ruud, a Norwegian goldsmith born in 1906. He set up his own shop around 1923. The cufflinks are stamped 830S GR, with the GR representing Georg Ruud, and the 830S is likely a designation of the percentage of silver. 830 parts silver out of 1000 (sterling silver is 920 parts silver out of 1000). Guilloche is ornamentation on jewelry which appears to look like interlaced ribbon. It can be seen when looking at the cufflinks close up.
