Antique Belle Époque Long Guard Chain Silver Wire Corallium Rubrum Beads
About the Item
This guard chain was hand crafted towards the end of the nineteenth century. It is made up from 203 corallium rubrum beads. Each bead is threaded onto pieces of silver wire, both ends of the wires are bent to form two loops to either side of the bead. The loops are all interconnected to form this lovely smooth guard chain. The chain is impressed on an both oval loops near the bolt ring with the Austrian silver hallmark. One of the loops is also impressed with a makers mark, the initials J B in an oval surround.
