About the Item
A long cultured pearl rope necklace, the one hundred and thirty-two cultured pearls of cream colour, with diameter 9-9.5mm, strung and knotted, measuring approximately 132cm long, gross weight 14.7 grams.
This necklace is in very good condition.
This fabulous cultured pearl necklace comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Coco Chanel was famously quoted as having said, “a woman needs ropes and ropes of pearls”. This long pearl necklace is a classic example of the statement-making rope pearls that were popular with Coco Chanel and were a staple of the 1920s flapper look. This pearl necklace is timeless and effortlessly chic and can be worn doubled or even tripled up on the neck.
