Miriam Haskell Turquoise Pate de Verre Wrap Lariat
About the Item
Miriam Haskell early Turquoise Pate de Verre Wrap Lariat from the late 1930's. These lovely lariats have clip fittings on the ends, which were originally designed to be attached to dress necklines in different configurations. Often the lariat was criss crossed at the neck onto a strapless or low cut bodice. The terminals are made of filigrees in signature Russian gilt, hand sewn with hand made pate de verre imported beads, simulating turquoise.
The necklace can be worn today with the "clip" motifs as pendants, one side can be clipped if desired or both can be left free as a necklace.
1930's USA. Unsigned.
Length 27" x 1". Clips measure 3" x 2.5" each.
