Ancient Roman 1st Century AD Nero Eagle Coin 18K Gold Pendant

About the Item

A silver "tetradrachm" from the Roman Eastern capital of Antioch (now in Syria) minted during the realm of the Emperor Nero 60-61 AD depicts the Roman eagle standing on a thunderbolt. The eagle and thunderbolt motif began with the Greek Ptolemies in Egypt, but was later appropriated by the Romans. The opposite side features the bust of Nero, the infamous emperor accused of the burning of Rome, among other things. This coin is set within a classic double twist wire handmade setting. The pendant is sent with a lifetime laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The handmade hammered chain shown is not included but can be ordered additonally. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant.

Papius, who was probably from Lanuvium, which was about 19 miles outside of Rome. The reverse side of the coin displays...
