About the Item
A beautiful antique Victorian bog oak floral pendant.
It is crafted from bog oak which is a type of oak wood that has been buried in a peat bog for hundreds sometimes thousands of years with a rich deep brown / black colour.
It was used in the Victorian era as a popular alternative to Whitby Jet.
This pendant has a wonderful stylised design of a floral spray applied to the centre of the chunky oval mount.
It is has a small hole in the top for threading onto a ribbon or necklace or you could add a bale if desired.
Condition:
Good used condition overall, some age commensurate wear and signs of use, some light surface wear and marks, no bale.
