Art Nouveau Butterfly Pendant Brooch OMC Diamond Enamel 14 Karat Gold
About the Item
A wonderful and rare early Art Nouveau Brooch Pendant in the form of a Butterfly. The magnificent Butterfly is 14 Karat Gold.
It is set with a central gorgeous Old Mine Cut Diamond of approximately .20 Carats. The diamond is just stunning - with the incredible sparkle of the antique diamonds that we love. The jewel is set with the most beautiful enamel in colors of green and black. The edges of the wings and the two antennae are set with seed pearls. The gem is a masterpiece of the Art Nouveau period. It dates to Circa 1880-1920. The butterfly can be worn as a brooch or as a pendant with a chain through the lower loop so it would hang down.
The butterfly is 1 1/4 inches (33mm) wide and 3/4 inch (20mm) tall.
The central diamond is on Old Mine Cut Diamond of approximately 0.20 Carats and 4mm in diameter.
The butterfly is 14 Karat Gold.
The butterfly weighs 3.9 grams.
There appears to be part of the left front leg missing, or it may have been how the piece was created.
