Georgian pendant brooch made in Austria.
An incredible antique pendant brooch, created in Austria during the Georgian period, back in the 1820. This fabulous piece has been crafted with classical neo-classical patterns in solid yellow gold of 18 karats and embellished with applications of vivid blue glass enamel. The design is very compact with substantial weight and is composed by a kind of coat of arms in the center, which is flanked and supported by three cherubim. The piece is accented with chiseled and engraved decorative motifs and mounted with forty-four natural earth mined rose-cuts diamonds.
It is fitted at the reverse with a hinged horizontal pin bar with a security hook to wear as a brooch and a retractable ring to wear in a chain. The construction of the piece and the level of details is amazing, made up with individual elements putted together by screws and pins. This pendant-brooch has a beautiful antique patina, is a total eye catcher and should be a great conversation piece.
Diamonds: Mounted in inlaid flush settings, with 44 European rose cuts diamonds, 1.46 carats, G/H color, SI clarity.
Weight: 41.30 Grams, (26.55 Dwt).
Measurements: 58 mm by 44 mm by 13 mm (2.28 x 1.74 x 0.51 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with early Austrian marks; the maker's mark cartouche and the number 4 mark for the assay of the gold.
Collateral: This pendant broch is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box.
Condition: The overall condition of this pendant-brooch is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. The diamonds and the enamel are secured in their settings. This piece has been carefully inspected to guarantee the condition and the authenticity.

Carlos Páez Vilaró He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1923. He was a Uruguayan abstract artist, painter, potter, sculptor, muralist, writer, composer and constructor. He took up drawing in 1939 and relocated to Buenos Aires, where he worked as a printing apprentice in the industrial Barracas section of the Argentine capital. Returning to Montevideo in the late 1940s, he developed an interest in Afro-Uruguayan culture. Settling in Montevideo's primarily black neighborhood of "Mediomundo" ("Half-World"), he studied the Candombé and Comparsa dances characteristic to the culture. He composed numerous musical pieces in the two genres and conducted an orchestra. His group's congas and bongos were decorated with their leader's own thematic drawings, as well. His interest in the culture later led him to Brazil, home to the western hemisphere's largest population of African descent.
