Art Deco 1930s Platinum 2.44ctw Old Cut Diamond Ring with Baguette Cut Shoulders
About the Item
An Art Deco diamond and platinum ring, comprising eleven old mine cut diamonds, and six baguette cut diamonds, set in platinum and 18 karat white gold, to a platinum band.
This statement Art Deco ring is set to the centre with an old mine cut diamond, rising above the rest of the ring in a claw setting. This central diamond is surrounded by cushion shaped old mine cut diamonds, creating a circular cluster. The diamonds are bright, white, and sparkly, with good clarity and colour. The central diamonds are raised high on a geometric, pierced gallery, which allows plenty of light to filter through and aid sparkle. The shoulders of the ring are each set with 3 baguette cut diamonds, graduating in size towards the band, which dance in the light, omitting fiery flashed of sparkle. The baguette cut diamonds are bright, white, and well-matched with one another, with good clarity and colour. The shoulders of the ring lead to a plain, polished band of platinum. The central cluster of diamonds pre-dates the rest of the ring and was given a new lease of life in the 1930s, when set into this striking ring, accompanied by modern baguette diamonds, giving a chunkier, geometric look, which would have been the height of fashion at the time. The ring is in great condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
The circular head of the ring measures 13mm long, and 13mm wide, sitting 9.2mm off the hand. Including the baguette cut diamonds, the setting measures 20mm wide. The band measures 2.3mm wide at the back.
