Organic ring designed by Gilbert Albert (1930-2019) for Bucherer. Very rare organic ring, created in Geneva Switzerland by the iconic jewelry designer Gilbert Albert, back in the 1960's. This sculptural ring has been crafted for the Swiss jewelry house of Bucherer in patinated solid yellow gold of 18 karats with organic textured patterns. The brutalist design with free and disorderly shapes clings to the user's finger as if it were part of it. Weight: 10.95 Grams, (7.02 Dwt). Size: 6 and may be sized on request. Measurements: 26 mm by 20 mm (1.02 x 0.79 Inches) and raise 10 mm over the finger Hallmarks: Stamped with the maker's mark, the mark for the assay of the gold and signed in full, "GILBERT ALBERT FOR BUCHERER .750". Gilbert Albert He was born in Geneva, Switzerland in 1930. He was a jewelry designer and one of the most influential jeweler artist of the 20th and 21th century with more than 10 world award winning prizes. He made important sculptural jewelry works for the Patek Philippe company and he worked there as part of the designer team. He was head of the workshop from the 1955 to 1962, during which time he designed his signature asymmetrical watches for the company. Mr. Albert took his inspiration from his passion for modern art, notably works by Brancusi and Mondrian. In 1962 after leaving the Patek Philippe Co, he founded and opened his own firm at rue de la Corraterie in Geneva where one of his workshops is located still today. He also worked for the Omega SA Watch Company. Recently the company opened boutique stores in Paris and the New York city. Collateral: This ring is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this ring is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the gold. All parts are secured in the settings.
