RED HOOK

Arthur’s was tasked with updating the home and renovating the existing kitchen of this Dutchess County property, which was cramped and incongruous after a renovation in the late 80s. The prior owners had tried to match the existing style of the 18th century main house even though the building that houses the kitchen was actually an addition created in the 1910-1920s. After doing a deep dive into the history of the home and the clients’ love for clean lines, we imagined an interior that was reminiscent of what the early 20th century European modernists might have done at that time, but imagined it in a pastoral New England vernacular.
