With STYLE COMPASS, 1stdibs is excited to profile the personalities that shape and influence design and share
their current views and inspirations.

Having spent his early career at Sotheby's, Mish
developed a lifelong appreciation for the
beautiful and the rare. Starting his
jewelry business while still at
Sotheby's, Mish created a
dazzling new collection for
the Winterthur Museum and his
future was set in precious stones.
Now, working from a stunningly
beautiful jewel box of a boutique on
the Upper Eastside, his creations are
the must have jewels for the New York, Dallas, Atlanta and Palm Beach social set.

I think in stone colors and so often it is impossible for me to choose which is the most beautiful! But this spring I am particularly in love with tourmalines. The intensely vibrant Caribbean blue of rare Paraiba tourmaline paired with the serene green of mint tourmaline is truly sensational!
I am a huge fan of the chic San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara, California. It has the simplicity of old Montecito mixed with the modern luxuries that we all love.

I love beautifully made with a slightly casual touch.
Thom Browne piped jackets, Jay Kos custom shirts, Bettanin & Venturi shoes at Barneys New York, and Junya Watanabe/Comme des garcons jeans for Levi.

I feel that nothing is more wonderful than something extremely special that you can wear everyday. A wonderful stand of large multi-color keshi pearls with a beautiful laurel nest ring & toggle or a purple sapphire & brown diamond ring.
Planting amazing trees purchased at the New York Botanical Garden's rare plant auction. We love to watch them grow each year like children!!
Having friends come to the country for totally casual weekends cooking, hiking and watching non-stop DVD's of 24 and Lost all evening long! It is truly the only time to enjoy friendships and reconnect with people you care about.
