This is a superb hardwood walnut or mahogany, Chippendale back, side or dining chair which we date to the mid 18th century, George 111rd period, circa 1760. The chair has a very well carved "Chippendale" back splat consisting of vertical interconnected ribbons with good detail. The top rail has a serpentine crest with central crisply carved detail with an acorn motif and well formed & carved ears with rosettes. The pegged and jointed legs are square with an inside chamfer back and front and the front legs are flute molded to match the side rails, with dovetailed "H" cross-stretchers. It has a drop-in seat which has been newly upholstered and webbed but could easily be upholstered in a fabric of choice. The proportion of this chair is excellent with very good width and a good rake to the backs and rear legs. The hardwood has developed a beautiful mellow colour and patina with age and polishing over the years. Overall a fine quality, English Georgian dining chair.

This is a good quality coffee can that we attribute to the Coalport Porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the John Rose period of the George 111rd years, circa 1805-1810. The coffee can is nominally parallel, tapering slightly to the base, with a simple loop handle with one lower kink and pointed attachments. It has a shallow foot recess with obtuse corner and is unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in an all gold gilt floral upper border pattern with further gilding on the body above the base rim, around the upper rim and to the outer handle. This is a very decorative Chinese cloisonné lidded box which we date to the mid 20th century. The box has a cylindrical shape, with its original lid and is all beautifully made with colored enamels set into a black ground. The main decoration to the body shows two 4-toed dragons chasing a flaming pearl. The lid shows another dragon set amongst clouds. The dragons have a gold colouring and other colours are used to give the detailed scene including red, green, blues, yellow and white. The lid also has lappet border patterns in blue to its edges.
