Lawrence Laske for Knoll Pair Saguaro Cactus Marble Top Side Tables, ca 1993
By Knoll, Lawrence Laske
Located in Cathedral City, CA
Lawrence Laske for Knoll Pair Saguaro Cactus Marble and Polished Aluminum Side Tables, ca 1993 This stunning pair of side table featured a polished aluminum base and gorgeous tops made of Port Laurent marble. This marble has a deep brown \to almost black coloration with coppery gold tones and a cream to bright white veining. An exquisite pair! Each table measures 20" high x 20 1/4" wide. The height is fixed. Age appropriate wear .There are no scratches to the tops but one area where there is a milky lightly stained area. There are light scratches and tape residue overall to the aluminum base and some wear to the tips of the legs as shown. Overall beautiful condition. Lawrence Laske: A Creative Drought Comes to an End I moved to Paris and after living there for almost a year, I ran out of money and had to return to the United States. In December of 1991, I found myself without a design rush, without a new adventure to keep my creative wheels turning. I was 29 years old and living in my parent’s basement in the suburbs of Chicago. In an effort to get some design work, I called Knoll’s creative director, Carl Magnusson...

Knoll Saguaro Cactus Wood Base Table with Slate Top by Lawrence Laske
By Lawrence Laske, Knoll
Located in Topeka, KS
Lawrence Laske saguaro cactus table produced by KnollStudios and offered at neacon, 1993. This one has a wood base with black slate top and is in wonderful condition - see long description for details. Offered here is the saguaro cactus table designed by Lawrence Laske in 1993 and produced and sold by KnollStudios. With a base shaped in wood to resemble or remind us of the saguaro cactus and a gorgeous natural black slate tabletop this table is an awesome product of the 1990s. After obtaining this table we found the slate top had a small nick in the edge so my husband and partner has painstakingly restored the nick with slate dust and a little epoxy, used ooo steel wool on the top to smooth it, and added a coat of stone sealer to keep it looking wonderful (the photos show it but by the eye it is literally invisible). After photographing we also discovered the tag on the bottom of the table says it is a toothpick cactus table...
