A rare and exceptional Norman Norell silk sequin embroidered gown. See The Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art for a similar dress donated by Lyn Revson.

Norman Norell founded his own label in 1960 after working for Hattie Carnegie and Anthony Traina. He was renowned for his sophisticated and luxurious garments and in particular his sequined evening sheaths which were startling glamorous and gorgeously simple at the same time.
