Mens-Victorian Era (1837-1901) Red British Militia Uniform
This is a handsome, Victorian Era (1837-1901) red, British Militia uniform probably made for a very young man. It is in exceptionally good condition for its age. All of the very detailed metal buttons are present and accounted for including the eight going down the center of the jacket, three at each sleeve, and six at the back panel. The interior of the jacket is as finely crafted as the exterior of the jacket is. The trapunto stitching is quite remarkable. There is a minimal amount of moth damage to the edge of the collar which I have photographed, otherwise the jacket is in exceptional condition.
