Pair of Amazing Francoise Carre Casablanca Garden Chairs

Sold

Very rare pair of chairs, known anectdotally as the "Casablanca" chair, originally a mid 19th century design by Francoise Carre known as the "pinwheel spring steel" chair.

This is the same model and period chair used outdoors at Rick's Cafe Americain in the iconic 1942 film "Casablanca." As well, these chairs appear in the original film version of "Grey Gardens."

Made of tempered steel seats with spring memory, this pair of chairs is still strong and serviceable today.
