Antique Staffordshire Pottery Figure of "The Sheep Lost but Found" circa 1820

A good decorative appealing figure of shepherd returning home after locating a lost sheep from his flock.
This figure was very popular in the early 19th century as it reflects a spiritual ethos of the time with a warm story to tell as it illustrates the parable from Mathews and Marks Gospels.
This figure is a very fine example with good modelling and strong well applied enamel colours.
