Antique Turkmen Palas Rug
About the Item
Antique Turkmen Palas rug. A great tribal weaving rug by the Yomut Turkmens of Central Asia, in brocaded flat-weave technique. A century ago, when this Kilim was woven, every Yomut girl of marriage age created a piece like this, as well as rugs, bags and other weavings for her dowry. Very fine work.
