1930s Donald Deskey Art Moderne Lacquered Wood Bench / Footstool

An original vanity bench or footstool by American Art Moderne master, Donald Deskey for Valentine-Seaver circa 1930. This piece boasts a distinguished form coupled with superb craftsmanship. The lacquered solid wood frame had been expertly restored some years back and was repainted in the original seafoam and white colorway, while the seat cushion retains its original gold velvet upholstery (seat is removable for easy recovering/cleaning).
