1970s "Strung Chair" by Daisy Schnepel

A geometrically-intriguing lounge chair comprising a solid walnut frame wrapped over with jute cords. Known as the "Strung Chair", it was designed in the 1970s by Daisy Schnepel who attended the Rhode Island School of Design where she earned her Master’s Degree in Industrial Design. In 1978, the chair was in an American contemporary chair show at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Production ceased prior to 1980. This is a well-conceived, well-executed piece that feels as good as it looks - - the rope conforms to meet your body's curves and the sensation is a bit like resting in a hammock.
