About the Item
The luxury liner M/S Kungsholm was a masterpiece of Swedish Art Deco design and the jewel of the Swedish American Line. Sweden's most prestigious designers and artisans lavishly decorated the ship with custom furniture, lighting, carpets, textiles, metalwork and artwork.
Some of Carl Bergsten works include the luxury ocean liner M/S Kungsholm, the Swedish Pavilion for the Paris Exposition des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes in 1925, and the Liljevalchs Art Museum in Stockholm. Bergsten designed the Stromsholm cafe chair which is considered an icon of 20th century Swedish design.
