Edmund J Spence Signed Six Drawer Cabinet

One of the finest examples we've seen by the mercurial American furniture designer Edmund J Spence. Produced at his Mexican studio "Industria Mueblera S.A.", and dating to the year 1950. We purchased this piece from the original owner, who ordered it custom from Edmund J Spence through the Chicago designer Richard Himmel in 1950. Photograph of the piece in it's original setting will be included in sale. Hand wrought iron scrolling is inset into the drawer fronts, and is complimented by the original hammered iron base. Piece is signed with burn stamps on all drawers and the back. Done in the finest solid mahogany. Finish is superb.
