Antique French Pedestal Plant Stand Round Display Carved Brittany Baluster. Direct from France, a tall and highly carved French pedestal/plant stand, with fabulous Brittany details! The main feature here is the sold chestnut baluster with a full length, dimensionally carved Breton gentleman in period attire. Note the shape of the body, the face and details to the clothing. This stand’s hand carved details are true to the Celtic roots of the Brittany region of France, with the hallmark feature of the Breton style, the symbolic use of men and women in traditional Celtic dress. A carved beveled edge to the round top has a ring of dropped finials below; detailed carved grooving on the square base with demilune carvings on the corners.
