A Pair of Chinese Carved Stone Drum Form Garden Stools or Tables

A pair of intricately carved stone garden stools or tables in two parts. The top carved as a drum (complete with carved nails) featuring animal and floral cartouches surrounded by a carved design field of either leaves or double vajras. The base carved carved in imitation of wooden and lacquer stands typical of the period, with key fret patterns and floral and foliate designs. The top carved as a brocaded cover with corners overhanging.
