A Ladies Writing Desk / Dressing Table by Ponti & Fornasetti ItalyDesigned circa 1953 A stunning ladies writing desk / dressing table featuring a double tiered body with flaring front legs, each with high brass sabots and a kneehole area surronded by four drawers. The desk is decorated in pattern "Farfalle" which features a scattering of hand colored butterflies on a white background and then lacquered to a high gloss. This desk was designed by Gio Ponti in the early 1950's and decorated by Fornasetti. This original example is of recent production with the correct Fornasetti stamp with artist signature as well as with original Fornasetti label to the bottom
