Hand Made "Drop Dead" French Uti Art Deco Clock
About the Item
The work is really quite exquisite and to the highest standards, I've certainly never seen anything like it before! The case is silver plated bronze with black vitrolite panels and the stepped design is really something. When you think of the "zig zag" idea, this clock embodies it all, since it steps up and also steps to the side. Hard to imagine anyone could design this and also have it made.
The dial is frosted silver with heavy bevelled edge patinated bronze batons and deco sword hands. It has a very high quality 19"' Lemania 8 day movement and as you might know about watches I'm sure you'll have heard of this noted Swiss company, better known for their complicated watch movements. It's in fabulous all round condition, the narrowest piece of vitrolite on the left hand side does have a small crack near the bottom but it's not very noticeable . It's also very very heavy and a great size.
