Magnificent Chinese Art Deco Nichols Rug
About the Item
Rendered in 100% wool on a cotton warp and weft, and woven in China in the early 1930's to designs by the Nichols firm of London, and imported to the United States.
Bright, vibrant golden/mustard border, raspberry center field with overall flowering vines, trees, rocks, butterflies, moths, etc.
Superb composition, still vibrant, and so beautifully cared for over the last 80 years.
Overall even pile, no edge losses, and only the most minimal wear.
