The surface of this large silver tray is plain and unembellished. The shaped Chippendale style border of the tray is encompassed with applied moulded decoration. This antique silver tray is supported by three impressive volute scrolling feet. The underside of this impressive salver bears the retailer’s mark 'Mappin & Webb'. Condition This large antique salver is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. This sterling silver salver has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the underside are very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the superior gauge of silver. A magnificent, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver serving dish with cover made by Robert Garrard II; an addition to dining silverware collection This magnificent antique Victorian sterling silver dish has a rounded hexagonal form. The body of the serving dish is plain and embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of on a cap of maintenance turned up a lion passant*. The plain body is encompassed with a cast and applied rosette border to the rim, accented with a leaf decorated corner pieces. The dish is fitted with an impressive domed hexagonal cover, embellished with chased interlacing foliate and trellis designs, all on a matte background to the rounded sides. The upper portion of the domed cover is ornamented with further chased foliate decoration, accented with a paralleling scalloped border.
