Antique Art Deco Medical, Pharmaceutical or Apothecary Inspired Desk Clock
About the Item
This antique desk or table clock has no maker's marks, but is presumed to have been made in the United States in approximately 1920 in the period Art Deco style. The cock face is done in a patinated cast brass and has iconic pharmaceutical or medical symbols on each corner. The clock face is done with a brass colored background and very unique Ancient Egyptian or Greek numerals to represent the history of pharmacology. and medicine. The cast brass feet are such that the clock stands tilting slightly back. The clock is working, but the wiring is getting brittle in spots and may require being updated. It's presumed this clock was made as an advertising or promotional item that salesman gave to preferential clients.
