Waltham 8 Day Banjo Clock for Shreve Crump and Low, Simon Willard Patent

About the Item

A fine example of the Waltham “Willard” presentation model weight driven banjo clock. Waltham banjo clocks of Willard Design are faithful reproductions of Simon Willard’s “Patent Timepieces” of one hundred and twenty-five years ago. Mahogany frame, cast brass bezel, cast brass side arms, and gilt eagle finial. Eight day weight driven brass works with maintaining power & stopwork. Reverse paint decoration on the throat and door, and reads “S. Willards Patent”. The clock face reads “Waltham” and “Shreve, Crump, & Low Co, Boston”. Very good working condition, with minimal surface imperfections and light overall wear from age and use. Dimensions: Approximately 40 in H x 10.25 in W x 3.78 in D.
