This mandala thangka is hand painted on canvas with 24k gold. Different hues of green,blue,red and orange colors blend seamlessly with the shimmering of real gold.
Mandala means circle in Sanskrit. Mandala is a spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe.The circular design symbolizes the idea that life circulates just like day and night. Mandalas are believed to create a powerful field of energy.Mandala appears as a series of concentric circles. Each mandala has its own resident deity housed in the square structure situated concentrically within these circles. The square shape indicates that the absolute space of wisdom is without aberration. This square structure has four elaborate doors adorned with bells, garlands and other decorative items. Four gates symbolizes kindness,compassion,sympathy and equanimity.
A booklet of "Procedure of making a Thangka" is included with the purchase.
