Henry Cliffe (1919-1983) Vandyck Theatre Poster Lithograph 42x30cm Mid 20th Century Henry Cliffe was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire in 1919. After studying at the Bath Academy of Art he opened up a lithography studio in the city, where he designed surreal forms until his retirement in 1981. Cliffe's work was exhibited internationally to wide acclaim. This is done on a very interesting handmade paper (Japanese?) it is hand signed and numbered. In this print the artist Sam Messer uses bold contrasting colors in a gestural manner.
