Impressionist landscape of a river at the edge of the woods by Yuri Gusev (Russian, b. 1928). There is a kneeling figure between the trees in the foreground. Presented in a pink-hued tan frame.

Yuri Gusev was born in Moscow in 1928. In 1953, he graduated from the Moscow State V.I. Surikov Art Institute, Mochalsky’s workshop. He has participated in several exhibitions since 1949, including: Exhibitions of Young Moscow Artists (1953-1958); “40th Anniversary of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League”, Moscow (1958); “Moscow, the Capital of Our Motherland”, Moscow (1964); “Moscow Artists for the 50th Anniversary of the October Revolution”, Moscow (1967) and other exhibitions.
