Katharine Hepburn, 1959 by Burt Glinn is a black and white celebrity photograph. A classic black and white portrait of the legendary American actress on the set, Glinn photographed the beautiful and talented Katharine Hepburn during the filming of "Suddenly Last Summer", an adaption of a play by Tennessee Williams. The gelatin silver RC 10" x 8" press print has Glinn's blind stamp recto (front of photo) on lower left in margin.

"Born 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, photographer Burt Glinn worked for LIFE magazine before joining Magnum photo agency. He photographed personalities throughout the 1950s and 60s, continuing to work commercially and editorially for more than five decades in the US and abroad on assignment, until his death in 2008.
The artist photographed revolutionary leader Fidel Castro entrance into Havana, Cuba, celebrity and art luminaries such as Andy Warhol and Helen Frankenthaler. Subject matter included the social scene of the rich, the dirtiness of politics, and the humorous. Glinn received numerous awards for his editorial and commercial photography."
