John Stoddart
Daniel Craig Contact Sheet (Limited Edition of 25) - 30x40 In Celebrity Print

2002

About the Item

This is a 2002 contact sheet (a positive print of all the negative images from a roll of 35mm film or medium format film) of youthful-looking Daniel Craig, taken by British celebrity and fashion photographer, John Stoddart. Craig was then on the cusp of becoming an international celebrity and heartthrob with his portrayals of “James Bond” in his first Bond movie, “Casino Royale.” John Stoddart is known as the “Photographer to the Stars” and recognized as one of the world’s most renowned photographers. Born in the United Kingdom, his work includes photographing glamorous celebrities such as Catherine Zeta-Jones, Sir Anthony Hopkins, to big name bands such as “The Rolling Stones”. By the early 1980’s, Stoddart had photographed every major record label band, establishing himself as one of the world’s great celebrity and also boudoir photographers. A notoriously fast photographer, he has a preference for working with film as opposed to digital. His passion for photography carries over to the complete printing process and also includes his collection of beautiful, era gone by cameras. He is not just a photographer; he is an artist. His work captures not just a picture but a story that can be told to the viewer through the eyes of his subjects. He has worked for major publications and brands that included Vogue, Harper’s, EMI and Virgin and is often credited for the return of glamour to popular culture. Stoddart has exhibited world-wide, including galleries in London and Paris. The Sofitel Hotel, Beverly Hills in 2017 held an “A” list invitation only exhibition and has continued to use his celebrity images as framed art throughout the hotel.
