About the Item
One of the defining characteristics of Mitchell Funk's work is how he shoots with light. In "Foggy San Francisco Skyline with Ship," Funk takes light into a new realm and in doing so delights the viewer's eye. The semi-silhouetted skyline that has a vertical attitude acts as a counterpoint to the foreground ship that horizontal one.
Signed dated and numbered 2/15 lower right recto, other sizes available, unframed. Printed later, This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Mitchell Funk
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of color photography. In 1970, he participated in one of the first color photography shows at the Brooklyn Museum titled “Images en Couleur." In 1971, he was included in the visionary books Frontiers of Photography and Color (Life Library of Photography), both published by Time-Life. He has done more than 50 photography magazine covers, including covers for Newsweek and Life.
