"The “Wake Up!” print is a simple but urgent plea for all of us to activate our moral compasses and speak up. For those who have been silent, it is time to open our eyes, our minds, and speak out for human rights and human dignity. The title and text in the print were inspired in part by a lyric from punk band T.S.O.L.’s song “Silent Majority.” I worked on their just released album “The Trigger Complex” so I’ve been listening to their music a lot lately. I support Planned Parenthood and will be making a donation to the Planned Parenthood Action Fund to stand with the millions of people Planned Parenthood provides care for each year." – Shepard
Shepard Fairey is a major influencer in the street art movement along side Banksy, Mr. Brainwash, and others. He has gained notoriety as a graphic artist, muralist, and an expert in mixed media. He was born on February 15, 1970 and is now based in Los Angeles, California. Fairey grew up in the skateboarding and punk rock culture, and may also be most well known for his 2008 "Hope" poster of then U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Shepard Fairey
Expanding on the legacies of artists such as Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, Shepard Fairey’s practice disrupts the distinction between fine and commercial art.
A major artist of the street art movement, Fairey rose to prominence in the early 1990s through the dispersion of prints, posters, stickers and murals, related to his Obey Giant campaign, which yielded an international cultural phenomenon. Fairey’s iconic poster of President Barack Obama was adopted as the official emblem associated with the presidential campaign and encapsulates a number of recurring concerns in the artist’s work, including propaganda, portraiture and political power.
