Augmented Immortal – Eucalyptus by Oliver Ashworth-Martin - Bronze sculpture

2019

About the Item

Augmented Immortal – Eucalyptus is a bronze sculpture by contemporary English sculptor Oliver Ashworth-Martin, dimensions are 40 × 40 × 40 cm (15.7 × 15.7 × 15.7 in). This sculpture is signed by the artist and comes with a certificate of authenticity. There are 9 editions of this sculpture. Shapes that appear commonplace because they are dispersed throughout the landscape—including the pods of some plants, like eucalyptus—are highlighted in the "The Immortals" series. These fleeting natural elements are preserved and established as totems by being cast in bronze. Oliver Ashworth-Martin often includes natural elements in his drawings and sculptures, taking inspiration from the diversity and vastness of Australian vegetation. Mathematical harmony of patterns and richness of shapes and textures are revealed by him through abstraction, magnification, or contrast with inorganic materials (like metal). His explanations provide viewers with a fresh perspective on their surroundings.
