About the Item

Paul Sisko (American, b. 1942) Untitled, 1971 Stainless Steel Sculpture: 18 1/4 x 6 x 4 1/2 in. Base: 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 x 4 in. Signed: Paul Sisko "71" 9/12 Edition 9 of 12 Paul Sisko has over thirty-years experience as contemporary sculptor and furniture maker who uses metal, wood, stone and glass in his bold geometric designs. His work ranges from small to large, both interior and exterior. Sisko creates small table pieces, wall reliefs and large outdoor works where massive steel pieces are transformed into something that appears softer and more flexible. Sisko also makes toys. Several years prior to 2017, Sisko decided to turn his creative efforts towards gardening. As the artist himself said, “You never really retire when you’re in the arts, you just move on to other art forms.” His sculptures can be found at the Berman Museum, NJ State Museum, and in other private collections across the United States. Steven Wolfe (American, 1955-2016) Untitled (Book Bookends), 1990 Bronze 6 1/4 x 7 x 4 inches Stamped: SW 1990 2/3 For more than two decades, Steve Wolfe (1955–2016) created sculptures and drawings of astounding craft and visual presence. Wolfe re-created worn books and used records, primarily from the 1960s and 1970s, that influenced his own personal and artistic sensibilities. Working in the tradition of trompe l’oeil, Wolfe created pieces that quite literally “fool the eye” on first inspection. Using a variety of materials and processes, including oil, acrylic, screen printing, lithography, modeling paste, canvas, wood and aluminum, Wolfe sculpted and painted precise and exacting three-dimensional replicas of books and records that possess a personal significance. Iconic titles include Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, Dostoyevsky’s Notes From Underground, Alfred Barr’s Cubism and Abstract Art and The Beatles’ Revolver...
