Superb evening dress in taffeta and flocked velvet from the Jean Allen designer House in London from the late 1950s. The Pierre Balmain designer House in Paris supplied his models at Jean Allen designer House in London. Large backless cleavage with draped and pleated bustier in emerald green and black taffeta with an elegant bow on the side. Stitched skirt with large background in fashioned cream silk, flocked with ribs of black velvet. Two petticoats in tarlatane and black rigid cotton one of which is hopped at the bottom for excellent stability. Original woven label indicating Jean Allen London 14/38. Excellent condition of color and conservation.
