Japanese Asian Signed Four-Panel Folding Byobu Showa Deer in Misty Forest Screen
About the Item
A truly gorgeous four-panel Japanese Byobu folding screen depicting a nature landscape scene with two adult deer/bucks and a doe walking through an early morning misty forest. The subtle dark yet rich colors, silver leaf, and beautiful hand-painted detail of the deer and surrounding trees and grass foliage make this an attractive and special work. We have not seen another screen quite like it so unique in this respect.
Signed and sealed in red ink by the artist.
Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch.
This beautiful hand-painted gem of a screen is sure to stand out in almost any setting whether used as a small divider or hung on the wall as a work of art. Would also be a great addition to any Japanese or Asian screen/art collection.
