Antique Burmese Carved Wood Panel of a Court Scribe. The standing heavenly being holds a manuscript with a brush in the right hand writing scripture on an accordian style book while standing on a lotus pedestal. A high relief carving of teak with a two tone red lacquer finish and gold leaf highlights. Minor Surface abrasions with minor losses, otherwise fine condition. 55.75 x 13 x 3.5 inches (141.5 x 33 x 9 cm). 37 lbs. (16783 grams) Late 19th Century. Provenance: A Bay Area Estate, California.
