About the Item

This is an old Japanese "Kobo Daishi" wooden figure. "Kobo Daishi" means "Kukai". "Kukai" was a monk from the early Heian period. His posthumous name was "Kobo Daishi". He is the founder of Shingon Buddhism. This is a very old figure, thought to have been made in the 1800s. A very old figure carved out of wood. It's an art object. The overall quality of the carving is high. Size: W27 D18 H36 cm
