18th Century Swedish antique rustic genuine Grain Measure box dated 1798
About the Item
18th Century Swedish antique Grain measure box dated 1798
The dimension is cubic with the upper side open. The corners are joined by sinking in a so-called dovetail.
The measure has burn marks, including a crown (crowned) and marked 1 liter. The marking also consists of several two-digit numbers which are probably the year when the measurements were checked.
For a long time, even in the 19th century and into the 20th century, the tax was usually paid in grain or other products and it was then important that measures and scales were standardized and controlled.
A very decorative object that can be used to store kitchen utensils, for herbs in the kitchen or why not as a flowerpot.
