Blue Teapot, Ingrid Van Munster
About the Item
Ingrid Van Munster's creations are made of porcelain sandstone. The artist explains that she deforms her works during the drying phase by “seeking an attitude, an emotion, an evocation…” in her words. The colorization phase consists in covering her pieces with enamel, after a first firing at 1000°C. She manufactures her own matt and satin enamels, in a concern for texture and color, which she manages to merge together on her dishes, annealed at 1300°C in a gas oven. According to her words, the enamels “complete the work on shapes, accentuating or softening the deformations”.
