About the Item

Dutch silver set by Gerritsen and van Kempen, 1945 A jam spoon and 16 large teaspoons with long oval spoon body and the handle in a point with graceful oval curves incorporated. Made by Gerritsen & Van Kempen, N.V., Zeist, The Netherlands Master sign used during (1926-1961). The jam spoon has it's Dutch Hall marks of Lion 2 ( 835/1000 purity of silver), Office mark with letter B of Utrecht, Master sign of Gerritsen & Van Kempen, Year letter crowned K for 1945. The teaspoons are has there Hall marks of the Dutch "sword" used during 1906 and 1953. And the Master sign of Gerritsen & van Kempen, The set is not boxed The measurements are for the jam spoon are 17 cm long, 3 cm wide and the depth is 2,5 cm. The teaspoons are 12 cm long, 1,7 cm wide and the depth is 1,2 cm The weight in total is 208 grams.

    An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Dutch silver and agate handled server; an addition to our diverse silverware collection. This impressive antique Dutch silver server has an oval shaped blade. The anterior face of the blade is embellished with impressive finely pierced diaper pattern decoration encompassed with a paralleling bright cut engraved scrolling leaf decorated border. The blade is further ornamented with a bright cut engraved scalloped border to the rim blending to a plain border to the incurve. The reverse of the blade is plain and unembellished. This exceptional example of antique silverware retains the original and exceptional faceted agate handle. The ferrule and lower portion of the stem are ornamented with an engraved simplified lozenge design accented with a trellis pattern. The hallmarks struck to this impressive server include: Maker's mark: TGZ3 Silver quality / purity mark: Lion Passant mark .833 (833/1000) Date letter: Z (1884) Duty mark: Minerva head Condition This antique server is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The agate handle is in perfect condition. The bright cut engraved decoration is all very crisp. The Dutch hallmarks struck to the reverse surface of the stem and ferrule are all very clear.
