In the Trompe L'Oeil style. Beautifully designed, handmade and hand painted, hard paste porcelain. Signed and dated ('96) on underside as shown in last image. A collectable piece. A special piece for a dining table, display cabinet, etc. Dimensions: 5.5" x 6" x 3.75" Height. About: Katherine Houston is a living artist working in an 18th century technique, adapting the techniques and masterful creations of the past. She is one of the few artists in the world carrying on a tradition of hand sculpting hard paste porcelain, decorated with a broad range of color over glazes. Ms. Houston is directly influenced by 18th century German Meissen and Frech Sèvres porcelain. Her work is predominantly botanical themes of fruits, vegetables, leaves and flowers.
