Edalight, Lighting Sconce in Paper and black Metal, M, YMER&MALTA, France
About the Item
Inspired by the graphics of Japanese kimonos, "edaLight" combines a unique, but simple paper folding technique with an organic handcrafted metal structure.
The paper works as a reflector projecting a halo of light on the wall. As with the Akari Series from the 1950s, the required assembly of the paper is part of the experience of this lamp, a tactical engagement fostering a deeper connection with the piece.
"edaLight" is part of the Akari Unfolded collection created by the YMER&MALTA Studio for The Noguchi Museum to pay homage to the iconic Akari series by Isamu Noguchi. This collection was exhibited in 2018/2019 at The Noguchi Museum in New York.
"edaLight" is in a numbered edition and each piece has a certificate of authenticity.

- Belle de Jour, Lighting Sconce in white Linen, black Metal, YMER&MALTA, FranceBy Océane Delain, YMER&MALTALocated in PARIS, FRA combination of an innovative material and an intelligent assembly, “Belle de Jour” achieves the perfect balance between a soft translucency and mechanical performance. As with every piece from YMER&MALTA, the design process of “Belle de Jour” starts with an intention, an emotion. On a trip to Bonifacio, Corsica Valérie saw a cliff that sparked her imagination. The image of this cliff, with its multiple stratum of rock, was the genesis for Valérie and Océane to develop the design for this piece, which emerged from a long process of prototyping. The resin and linen composite material of the sheets was developed in the studio. Valérie Maltaverne chose to work with linen as a French reference for the bamboo used...Category
